Paul Eng, of Old Stage Road, Saugerties died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at his home.
He was born in Toyshan, China on July 23, 1915, a son of the late James and Chin See Eng. Mr. Eng immigrated to this country in 1933 and settled in this area.
In 1933 Mr. Eng, with his father, opened the Kingston Tea Garden in uptown Kingston. In 1966 he opened Eng's Chinese Restaurant, Broadway which he operated until retirement in 1988.
His wife Moy Eng died March 5, 1973. His daughter Holly Hartle died in 1994. One brother Bing Eng and his companion, Joan Wadsworth both died previously.
Surviving are two daughters Jean Eng Ross of Tustin, CA and May Lewis of Orono, Maine; four sons George Eng of Saugerties, Jesse Eng of West Palm Beach, FL, Donald Eng of Sunset Beach, NC and Richard Eng of Troy. 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 at Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
