Patricia M. Camp, 81, of Hurley, NY, entered into rest on October 9, 2015 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Clara (Houlihan) Carr and was born on May 24, 1934, in Kingston.
Pat attended Kingston High School, class of 1952, where she was a member of the 1952 Kingston High School May Court, as well as the drum majorette for the Kingston High School Marching Band.
She was the wife of Peter J. Camp, they were married on July 24, 1955, at St. Joseph's RC Church in Kingston.
Pat was an exceptional woman and had numerous talents. She previously worked at Sprague Electric, IBM, the US Post Office, and at Ulster County Methadone Clinic. Many will remember Pat for her remarkable talents as a seamstress, sewing for friends, neighbors and local businesses, but her real love was her family and her greatest pride and joy was being a wife and mother. Prior to her declining health, Pat enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and traveling with her husband and friends, vacationing to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland and the Mediterranean. Pat was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church.
In addition to her beloved husband, Peter, with whom she recently celebrated 60 years of marriage on July 24, 2015, she is survived by daughters Patricia Nalley and her husband B. Michael, of Mason, OH; and Susan Smith and her husband Bryan of Hurley, NY. A son, Peter J. Camp, Jr. and his wife Jane of Haverhill, MA. Two grandsons, Matthew Nalley and wife, Jenna; and Patrick Nalley; and one great granddaughter, Cori Nalley, all of Mason, OH. Her brothers, Martin Carr and wife, Carol; and Bernard Carr and wife, Marion; her sister; Clara "Sissy" Scheffel, all of Kingston. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Nalley; her sister Teresa Wood; and her brother Frederick Carr.
Additionally, Pat's family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary compassion and care given to Pat by her caregiver and friend, Ashlee Jones, who helped Pat to enjoy the last three years of her life with dignity and respect.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Monday from 4 -7 pm. The procession will form on Tuesday at 9:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Joseph's RC Church at 10 am. Entombment in Wiltwyck Cemetery Mausoleum.
