Patricia H. Dwyer, 77, of Golf Terrace, Kingston, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany; she was born April 5, 1931 in Maida Vale, London, England, to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Jones) Hansford. She was a graduate of Dartmouth Grammar School and the Bexleyheath Technical Training College for Women in 1949. She moved to this country with her family in 1952.
She was the wife of the late Edward J. Dwyer, they wed in 1958. Patricia had been an Administrative Assistant in the anthropology and philosophy departments at SUNY New Paltz, until her retirement. In her retirement she had worked for Bank of America, processing New York State tax returns.
Patricia had enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid swimmer, and had been a longtime member of Williams Lake, and now was a member of Twin Lakes. She was a member of the Town of Esopus Library Needlework Group and a past member Kingston Garden Club. She also spent many hours taking classes at Ulster County Community College. She enjoyed the arts, in particular classical music and dance, and had been involved in the local performing arts. She also had a fond appreciation for gardening, cooking, traveling, tennis; in particular Wimbledon and a true love for animals, in particular her pet dog Precious.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Diane Dwyer and her husband Monte Bolinger of Scottsdale, AZ, and sister Sheila Fisher, San Diego. Grandmother of Royce Bolinger, she was predeceased by her sons Kevin and Christopher Dwyer.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where services will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 pm. Rev. Dr. David M. Brechter, officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8 pm.
