Paola Bonetti of Sturgis Road, Monticello died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Westchester County Medical Center. She was 84.
She was born in Italy, a daughter of the late Fernando and Angela Pignatti Piccaglia. As a child she moved to Brazil and, in the late 1930's moved to New York City. She settled in the Bronx and worked, for many years, as a seamstress. Mrs. Bonetti eventually co-owned a dress making factory in the Bronx.
A parishioner of St. Peter's Church, Monticello, Mrs. Bonetti was an avid Bingo player.
Her husband, Luigi Bonetti died January 18, 1992. Her siblings Luisa Licurisi and Pier Luigi Piccaglia both died previously.
Surviving are one son Bruno Bonetti and his wife Tracy of Kingston, two granddaughters Kara and Jenn Bonetti.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Saturday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Peter's Church 10 Liberty Street, Monticello on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
