Palmer J. Brodhead

Palmer ''Skip'' J. Brodhead, of Kingston, died Wednesday at his residence. He was born January 23, 1938 in Kingston, NY to Kathleen "Kay" Spinnenweber VanTassell of Port Ewen and the late Palmer M. Brodhead.

He was married to Kathleen M. Brodhead who died on September 1, 1992.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1955, while in high school he played on the varsity basketball team. He was an insurance executive, having been President and owner of Academy General Insurance from 1975 to 1998. He had been member of the Professional Insurance Agents

In addition to his mother he is survived by his daughter Kathleen A. Bell, Port Ewen, NY, son Jon P. Brodhead, Voorhees, NJ, step daughter Holly Walsh, Saugerties, NY, 6 grandchildren, an aunt and many cousins. Predeceased a son Jeffrey P. Brodhead.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, Friends may call on Sunday from 1-4 PM. A memorial service will be held at 4pm.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to American Cancer Society, 95 Schwenk Drive, Kingston, NY 12401 or Hospice of Ulster County, 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
