ORDONIO DE LA PENA, of E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, Philippines died October 16, 2005 at 1:15am Philippine time in Riverside Medical Center, Bacolod City, due to congestive heart failure and stroke after struggle of long illnes of the enlargement of the heart. It was on the birthday of his brother, Fr. Rick De La Pena of St. Joseph’s Church, Kingston, NY. Ordonio was 45 years old.
He was born in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines on November 19, 1960, a son of the late Urbano Gaban De La Pena and Visitacion Guarin De La Pena. He was an employee of HPPAI (Hawaiian-Philippine Planters Association, Incorporated) for 26 years.
Ordonio is survived by his wife Zaida Palma De La Pena, a public school teacher in the Philippines; his children Kim Winter De La Pena, twin sons Orville John and Orven Bryan De La Pena, and Thalia Grace De La Pena; his brothers and sisters Maria Luz Cruz of Milan, Italy, Fr. Rick De La Pena of Kingston, NY, Ortolito De La Pena of Silay City, Philippines, Orlanda Wyatt of White Plains, NY, Orlando De La Pena of Silay City, Philippines, Fr. Dani De La Pena of West New York, NJ, Ofemia Ezpeleta of Milan, Italy and the late Ursula De La Pena and Juan De La Pena. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 2:00 PM at San Diego Parish, Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. His brothers, Fr. Rick will celebrate the Mass and Fr. Dani will be the Homilist. Burial will be in San Diego Catholic Cemetery, Silay City, Philippines.
