Norman "Norm" Cody, 79, of Wall St., Kingston, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at HealthAlliance Hosp. Broadway Campus, Kingston, NY. He was born June 24, 1934 in Glasco, NY a son of the late Lawrence and Lucille Reese Cody. Norm served in the Air Force from 1952-1956. He was a member of VFW Post 1386 and American Legion Post 150. Following the service, he was employed at Kingston Brick Yard prior to joining IBM working in the test area. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Following retirement from IBM, he worked for more than ten years at the YMCA and was currently employed as a school bus monitor. He enjoyed playing Solitaire and Texas Hold-em on the computer. Surviving is his son Norman L. James of Kingston, his brother John (Earlene) Cody of New York City; two granddaughters, Ebani and Kahdeshia James; a step-grandson, Brandon Hill and a step-grandaughter, Breanna Carr and his daughter-in-law, Michele James-Hill. Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where friends will be received on Thursday from 3 - 7 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at Pointe of Praise Church at 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
