Nina Busch, 91, of Kingston, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Golden Hill Health Care Center in Kingston. She was born June 8, 1923 in Kharkov, Ukraine, to the late Alexander and Anna (Trampenau) Solodaj. Nina studied Piano at the Kharkov Conservatory in Ukraine until her education was interrupted by WWII. She met her husband F. Walter Busch during the War and together they came to New York in 1954. Walter passed away in 1992. Nina proudly worked as a teacher's aide at John Lewis Childs School in Floral Park for over 30 years. She spoke several languages, loved gardening and traveling. She was an accomplished classical pianist but will best be remembered for her saloon-style "Lady of Spain-Has Anybody Seen My Gal-Glow Worm" repertoire, which she played on any piano she could get her hands on. Nina is survived by her children, Harold Busch of Floral Park and Renate Soyer and her husband, Adam, of Kingston; her grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Miles, Evan and Graham; and her great grandchildren, Brett, Delaney, Brady, Rebecca, and Charlotte. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Mary Lynn Busch. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Golden Hill Health Care Center for the care and compassion Nina received during her stay.
