Nathan Kalina of Rokeby Rd., Forest Park section of Red Hook died Monday, January 04, 2010 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 91. He was born in the Bronx, a son of the late hymen and Rose Siegel Kalina.
He graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. For many years, he was active in accounting and land development in Saugerties and Red Hook. He owned 9G Lanes and Kalina Farm. He was a long time member of the Red Hook Chamber of Commerce and a member of Congregation Ahavath Israel in Kingston.
His wife, Shirley Gottlieb Kalina died March 2, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Lydia Nadel and her husband Alan of Greensboro, NC and Abbey Straus and her husband Stephen of Larchmont and three grandchildren, Emily and Elliot Straus and Sidney Nadel. A cousin also survives.
His brother, Louis Kalina died previously.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, 11:30 AM at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
