Nancy V. Oppenheimer, formerly of Kingston, of Reading, Mass. died Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Daniels House Nursing Home. She was 96.
She was born in Saugerties on June 5, 1909, a daughter of the late Philip Elmer and Edith M. Snyder Van Vlierden. A graduate of the Kingston Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Oppenheimer worked at the Kingston Hospital emergency room as a Registered Nurse. She later worked as a Public Health Nurse for the Ulster County Health Department. She retired in 1967.
Formerly of Hurley Avenue and Mountain View Avenue, Kingston, Mrs. Oppenheimer moved to Reading ten years ago.
Her husband Max J. Oppenheimer died December 16, 1994, her son Stephen Oppenheimer died in 1943; one brother Leslie I. Van Vlierden and one sister Beatrice V. Cullum both died previously.
Surviving are one daughter Carol Everson and her husband Jeffrey of Reading, MA; two grandsons Zachary and Gerrit Everson. One nephew and several nieces also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 12:00 PM at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Rev. Kenneth L. Walsh will officiate. Interment wil be in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
