Nancy A. Rittie

Nancy A. Rittie, 61, of Saugerties, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus. Born in Yonkers, NY, she was a daughter of the late Robert & Katie Lenhart Farrell. Nancy was a warm and welcoming woman, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, music, penny socials, yard sales and DJ-ing for car shows with her husband. She served as secretary for the East Kingston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her work caring for children at Head Start and Wolfs Daycare Center. Nancy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brian Rittie of Saugerties, whom she married on July 15, 1978, their son, Christopher Rittie, his partner Michelle Johnson and their son John Christopher Rittie of Kingston and their daughter, Hollie Walsh and her husband, Jeffrey of Saugerties, her sister, Jean McGuinness of Southampton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 16th at 1:00 PM at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, 81 Plains Rd, New Paltz, NY 12561 with Pastor Kendra VanHouten from Fair Street Reformed Church, officiating.
