Kingston - It is with a deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of a true gentleman, Myron E. Bush. Myron passed peacefully at his home in Kingston, New York on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Born on June 4, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Myron A. and Mae (Fowles) Bush. Myron had a great love for his country and was a model citizen. He excelled in almost everything he set out to do. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from July of 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957. Myron began his career working for Lever Brothers in Manhattan. It was there that he met the love of his life and best friend, Gertrude (Gerri) Weissman. They wed on June 10, 1956. Myron left Lever Brothers to work for IBM beginning in June of 1957. His employment with IBM began in Manhattan. He later transferred to Kingston in 1977. He retired in July of 1987 and was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. After his retirement, Myron continued his interests in computers and technology, and also enjoyed gardening, music (including stints as a DJ), and reading. For several years Myron and Gerri were "snow birds" spending their winters in Florida and summers in Kingston. Myron was loved by everyone who knew him. His generous and upbeat demeanor made him someone you just wanted to be around. He was extremely thoughtful, humorous, talented, and gifted. He was a model husband, father, and friend. Myron cherished his family. His easy-going nature, positive attitude, and dependability explained why he was always nominated to be in charge of social clubs, on Board committees, and the president of a camping group. In addition to his loving wife of almost 59 years, he is survived by his devoted daughter, Lisa E Keefe (Bush) and her husband Kenneth of Shady; his son Stephan J. Bush and his wife Judith of High Falls; three grandchildren - Nicholas Keefe of Shady, Michael Bush of Rosendale, Stephen Bush of Montana, and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his daughter, Carol Anne Adams. Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Keyser Funeral Home, Albany Avenue in Kingston, NY. The funeral service will be held at Keyser on Friday, April 17 at 12:00, with committal following at Wiltwyck Cemetery in Kingston. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Hudson Valley Hospice. To leave and expression of sympathy, please visit www.KeyserCarr.com
