REMEMBRANCE OF A GREAT MAN- MILLARD BONDS Millard Bonds passed away in the comfort of his home on December 9, 2015. Millard faced and overcame many obstacles, and no one can truly understand the extent of the struggles he had seen and possibly faced throughout his life. In his prime, Millard was a very active and high spirited man who loved to play basketball or get down to his favorite song with his fingers snapping. He was even known for trying to steal a van to go for a soda. These are things great stories are made of. As Millard got older, he began to face different obstacles as his health began to deteriorate. He beat all odds, wouldn't listen to any sort of time frame doctors tried to place on him, and continued to live to the best of his ability. Despite these additional obstacles, Millard continued to enjoy concerts, parades, dance parties and all types of activities. All those who were blessed to have crossed paths with Millard know just how his smile would light up a room and light up your soul. He could take a bad day and turn it around with his smile or his favorite phrase, "baby, baby, baby".
He was definitely a gentle soul. Direct eye contact with Millard would make the hardest people melt. If you got close enough to him, he would reach out and stroke your face with a gentle hand. Whether it was a great song, going to see the Temptations, his love for fashion, a formal dance, or a great meal, Millard was happy with what life dealt him. Millard's determination for life inspired those who knew him to work.
Millard will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 12:00 noon.
