Mildred V. Fleck

Kingston - Mildred Vivian Fleck, 99, died on Tuesday September 21, 2010 at the Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine, NY. Mrs. Fleck was a longtime resident of Parkchesster, Bronx, moving to Dutchess County to be nearer her family 4 years ago. She attended Evander Childs High School and graduated from Bird's Business School. She worked for General Motors (Frigidaire Division) before marrying William Fleck and becoming an active stay at home mom. She was a den-mother in the Boy Scouts and active craft person. She was a member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in the Bronx where she was also the secretary and financial secretary for many years. Mildred and her husband travelled extensively for pleasure. In later years she was an officer in her AARP Chapter.

Born November 17, 1910 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of William and Ilona Schultze. Her husband, William Fleck, whom she married on June 5 1937, died on May 3, 1974.

Survivors include her two sons Edward "Curt" Fleck and his wife Jennie of Kingston, NY and Roger N. Fleck and his wife Catherine of Nicasio, CA. and four grand children Laurie, Scott, Eric and Suzanne as well as 6 great grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on her 100th birthday in November. Inurnment will be at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Fourth Presbyterian Church, 2072 Newbold Ave., Bronx, NY 10462 or Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY 10461.
