Mignon L. Elliott of Van Terrace, Lake Katrine died Monday, November 22, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. She was 76.
She was born in Patterson on July 25, 1928, a daughter of the late Reuben and Margaret Kelsey Davis. Mignon was raised in Chichester and graduated from Hunter/Tannersville High School. She then moved to Kingston and on June 26, 1948 married Chauncey Elliott.
For over 20 years Mignon worked for the Kingston Schools Consolidated on Crown Street. She retired as payroll supervisor but stayed on as a school tax collector.
An active member at the Grace Community Evangelical Free Church, Lake Katrine, she volunteered at the Baptist Home, Rhinebeck and served their auxiliary as finiancial secretary. Mignon also volunteered at Golden Hill Health Care Facility as a piano player. She knitted and crochetted for Warm Up America.
Her brother, former Ulster County Legislator William 'Pucker' Davis.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Chauncey Elliott; one daughter Robin Alessi and her husband Michael of Livingston; Duane Elliott and his wife Donna of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; two granddaughters Lindsey and Brooke Elliott. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at a time to be announced at the Grace Community Evangelical Free Church, 865 Neighborhood Road, Lake Katrine (382-2288.) Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
