Michael J Thompson, 55, of Kingston, NY, formerly of Poughkeepsie and Newburgh, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 at The Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY. He was born February 18, 1955 in Newburgh, N.Y.

He was self-employed as a carpenter and painter and worked throughout the Kingston area for the last several years.

He volunteered with the YMCA and Catholic Charities in Kingston. He enjoyed collecting antiques, re-finishing furniture and fishing.

Michael is survived by many dear friends and touched many in the community.
