Michael Hillegas

Michael Hillegas, of the Town of Ulster, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at his residence.

He is survived by his beloved family - his wife of 42 years Elizabeth, his son David and his wife Jennifer of Seattle, his daughter Deborah of West Hartford, his grandson Joshua, his sister Ann Holmes of Corolla, NC, his mother-in-law Elizabeth Riewerts. He is survived by his sibling in laws, Margaret Kaplen, Henry Riewerts and Barbara Kwiecinski, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of the late Bennethum and Florence Hillegas.

Mr. Hillegas was born in Elmira and grew up in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Florida State University. He had served in the U.S. Navy for three years and had been employed by Tarkett, Inc.

Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, the family will receive their friends on Friday from 4 - 7 pm. Service and burial will be in Pennington Cemetery, Pennington, NJ

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Woodstock Reformed Church, 16 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498 or Hospice of Ulster County, 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401
