Michael Golgoski of Dogwood Street, Kingston, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, after a long battle with cancer, at HealthAlliance Hospital, Kingston. He was 55.
He was born in Kingston, a son of Dolores C. Luedtke Golgoski and the late John J. Golgoski, Sr.. A graduate of Kingston High School, class of '76, Michael received an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Harriman College.
A longtime area resident, Michael lived in Columbia County for 27 years. He co-owned Blue Stores Hotel and Restaurant, Town of Livingston for 13 years (until 2006). For 13 years he co-owned Blue Stores Antiques, Columbia County and was a former member of the Columbia County and Red Hook Chambers of Commerce. Michael previously worked as a salesman, Northeast territory, for Hanover Shoes.
Beloved son of Dolores Golgoski of Town of Ulster; brother of Kathy Renaud and her husband Douglas of Sawkill, John Golgoski of Kingston, Shirley Golgoski of Boiceville, and Marcie Golgoski of Orlando, FL. Loving uncle of Matthew Renaud, William and Lance Mayhon and the late Douglas Renaud, Jr.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday from 1:00 4:00 pm. A service of remembrance will be conducted by Robert Gaus on Sunday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
