Merritt F. Rose

Merritt F. Rose, 84, of Cottekill, NY, formerly Otego, NY. He was born on October 28th, 1934, the son of the late Fred and Iva (Aken) Rose. He was the husband of the late Sandra Rose, Sandra passed away on February 5th, 2012.

Merritt was born and lived in Troy, NY until the age of 5. His family then moved to Otego, NY where they operated a dairy farm for many years. Merritt later was a graduate of SUNY Morrisville, class of 1956. He then went to work for IBM Kingston as an engineer, retiring in 1991. After leaving IBM, Merritt worked at ARC in Kingston. He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where he started the Wednesday morning church service for consumers of ARC. He also enjoyed going to the Men's breakfast at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Merritt is survived by his first wife, Virginia Rose, his sons, Christopher Rose and his wife Stephanie, Timothy Rose and his wife Sharon, his four grandchildren, Daniel, Adam, Alyssa, and Peyton Rose, his siblings, Charles Rose, Elva Hutchinson, and Kathleen Hobson, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his brother, Albert Rose, and his sister, Ella Madison.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 104 Wurts St, Kingston, NY, at 12pm.
