Mel Henry Schwebach. Mel was born on February 26, 1946 to Anneliese & Leonard Schwebach. He was raised in Franklin Square, NY and upon graduation from High School, he began his career with the US Postal Service.
Mel was drafted into the Army and after serving 4 years he was discharged and he returned to his Postal position. He was a dedicated employee and retired after 30 years of service. Mel loved cars, Vintage & Custom. He spent a lot of time with his father salvaging and rebuilding many automobiles. In his later years he became fascinated with pedal cars & Midget Racers. He continued salvaging and refurbishing, only on a smaller scale. He also enjoyed raising Pidgeons and would spend hours releasing them and awaiting their return.
Mel was an extremely quiet & kind hearted man. He chose to only see the good in people and lived his life accordingly. Mel is predeceased by his mother & father, Anneliese & Leonard Schwebach and leaves behind his 2 sisters, Lynn Palser of Pennsylvania & Gail Schwebach Moore of Florida. He also leaves behind his Brother In Law, Vincent J. Moore III, Graig Zethner & several nieces & nephews and their families.
