May Kowalenko

May Kowalenko, 97, of Kingston, NY, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Mountain Valley Manor, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 15, 1921 in Harlem to the late Algot and Beda Johnson. May was married to her husband of nearly 70 years, Peter Kowalenko, they wed on November 19th 1944. Peter passed away in 2014. May had worked at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City. She later had been a member of the Jayne Cee's and volunteered at the #2 School in Kingston. May enjoyed traveling, and had been on over 100 cruises.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Moon of Kingston and Christine Kowalenko of Kingston, her grandchildren, Kelly Keene, Jennifer Kammerzel and her husband Scott, Peter Millham and his wife Karen, and Joshua Moon, 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, as well as several nephews.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Saturday August 4th from 10am to 12pm. The funeral service will take place at 12pm, followed by Internment in the Wiltwyck Cemetery Community Mausoleum.
