Maxine F. Meyer, 71, of Winnetka, CA, formerly of Kingston, died suddenly on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center in Woodland Hills, CA.
Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Irving & Ethel Ball Meyer.
Maxine was very active in the Jewish Community, both as a professional and as a volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts and was an avid Dodger fan. Maxine had a heart of gold and lived for her family and friends. She adored her great niece and nephews and loved spending time with all of the children in her family. She was an extremely caring, thoughtful, hardworking, fun loving and compassionate woman. She will be greatly missed.
Maxine is survived by her brother, Robert Meyer of Bethpage, NY, her two nieces, Ilene Meyer Haase and her husband Kenneth and Cheryl Meyer Griffith and her husband Brent. Beloved great nephews and great niece, Kyle, Dylan, Connor, Brayden, Brianna and Tyler as well as many cherished cousins and dear friends, also survive.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was predeceased by her twin sister, Phyllis Meyer.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, with Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht of Congregation Agudas Achim, officiating.
Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Jewish World Watch, SOVA of the Jewish Family Services of Los Angeles or Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.
