Max H. Palmer

Max Hughes Palmer, 88, of Kingston, NY passed away on April 11th at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born in Shippensburgh, Pa to Ruth Hughes and Daniel Palmer, Max was raised in York, Pa and moved to NYC where he met his wife Shirley, who predeceased him in 2010. Raising their children in Forest Hills, Queens Max worked at the Queensborough Public Library as a Branch Librarian. An Army veteran, Max was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Max loved art, literature, American history and music. Max is survived by his 2 daughters, Catherine Palmer of Kingston and Anne Palmer of Stone Ridge, his 2 grandchildren Daniel Wemp and Andrew Wemp of Bearsville, NY, as well as longtime friend Melanie Klein of Rego Park, NY and her 2 children Noemi and Charles. Max also leaves behind "Charlie", Dawn, Bill and other close staff members at Golden Hill. Funeral Service and interment for Max will be held privately.
