Max Bruns of Grant Street, Kingston died Monday, September 22, 2003 at Kingston Hospital. He was 80.
He was born on July 28, 1923, a son of the late August and Olga Trimpert Bruns.
A longtime area resident, Mr. Bruns served in the US Army Infantry during WW II in Co. G 23rd Infantry in Germany. A decorated veteran, he received a Purple Heart, E.A.M.E. Campaign Medal, one Bronze Battle Star and a Combat Infantryman Badge. Discharged in 1945, Mr. Bruns was a member of both Joyce-Schirick Post 1386, V.F.W. and the American Legion Post 150.
Mr. Bruns was employed at I.B.M. until his retirement.
Two brothers Alfred and Irving Bruns both died previously.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Anna M. Manion and several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:30 AM from the funeral home, Rev. David Brechter will officiate. Interment with military honors by Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Color Guard will be in Mt. Marion Cemetery.
