Matthew E. Torti Sr.

Lake Katrine- Matthew E. Torti Sr., of Penstock Lane died Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. He was 87. He was born October 2, 1915 in Buffalo, a son of the late Alexander R. and Marie Vassalo Torti. He was a 1938 graduate of Cornell University. He was retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt. Colonel. Following military service, he pursued business interests in New York City. He was a member of the Reserve Officers Association. His wife, Marie Colucci Torti died March 24, 1999. Surviving is his son, Matthew E. Torti Jr.and his wife Marilyn of Bellville, NJ; a grandson, Matthew E. Torti III and a granddaughter, Jennifer Torti. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A brother Peter died previously. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home on Thur. from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Fri. at 9:15 am. At 10:00 am, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
