Mary T. Nardi of Old Flatbush Road, Town of Ulster and SW 16th Court, Davie, Florida died Tuesday morning, November 16, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale. She was 92.
She was born in East Kingston on September 27, 1912, a daughter of the late Gaetano and Theresa Qualtere Clausi.
For over 40 years Mary worked in the garment industry as a floor lady and then manager. She worked at Sidney Halpern's, Fuller's, Manhattan's and Stone's garment factories in Kingston and then in Hudson, NY. She retired in 1974.
A parishioner of St. Colman's Church, East Kingston, for many years Mary belonged to the Altar - Rosary Society.
Mary was a founding member of the East Kingston Volunteer Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria.
Her husband Ralph R. Nardi died May 17, 1972. Three sisters Rose Cerulli, Lena Pingitore and Margaret Duffy and three brothers Santo, Thomas Dominick and John Clausi all died previously.
Surviving are one son James R. Nardi and his wife Luisa of Davie, Florida; one daughter Rose T. Sorcinelli of the Town of Ulster; one sister Theresa Rigolino of Poughkeepsie; one brother Joseph M. Clausi Sr. of the Town of Ulster; four grandchildren Anthony and Alexander Nardi, Joseph Sorcinelli and Mary Benenati; two great grandsons Joseph and Dominic Benenati; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue, Kingston on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman's Church, East Kingston at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
