Mary Spada DuBois of Derrenbacher St., Kingston passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 92.
She was born in Glasco, a daughter of the late Dominick and Philomena Greco Spada, Sr. For many years Mary worked as a seamstress in Kingston-area garment factories.
A longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Mary belonged to the Altar Rosary Society. She was a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Court Santa Maria, and the Colonial Senior Citizens. Mary enjoyed traveling and took many cruises and bus trips. She also enjoyed watching her beloved NY Yankees.
Beloved wife of Edward A. DuBois who died February 27, 1984; loving mother of Edward A. DuBois and his wife Kathleen Decker of Middletown; grandmother of Edward C. DuBois and his wife Cynthia; sister of Frank "Crip" Spada, Dominick "Tom" Spada, Carmine "Charlie" Spada and his wife Jenny, and Albert Spada and his wife Mary, all of Kingston and the late Michael Spada and Rose Spada. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Mary's family and her Catholic faith were always of paramount importance in her life.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday from 3:00 7:00 pm. The funeral procession will form on Monday at 9:00 am from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 166 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401 or to a charity of choice.
