Mary Frances (Kolano) Slater of Harding Ave., who had been employed at Kingston City Schools for 33 years retiring in 1997, died on Thursday November 24, 2022 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck, NY after a long illness. She was 79.
Mary was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Immaculate Conception School, Kingston High School class of 1960, and attended Rider College. As an early member of Immaculate Conception parish, the school, and living in the neighborhood, her Polish heritage was very important to her.
Born December 22, 1942 in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Louis F. Kolano Sr. and Frances T. (Kwasnik) Kolano. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharyn Elaine Slater, her son, Andrew Jason Slater, her grandchildren Molly Tekla, Ava Margaret, and Bridget Milly Slater, who were the center of her love and attention. Mary is also survived by her brother, Louis F. Kolano, Jr., and her sister in law, Linda Kolano, as well as nieces and nephews.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where friends and family may visit on Monday December 5, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Tuesday December 6, 2022 at 9am and will then proceed to Immaculate Conception RC Church, 467 Delaware Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 where at 10am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
