Mary J. Cole

Mary J. Cole formerly of Wiltwyck Garden Apartments, Kingston died Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. She was 91. Mary was born in East Kingston on September 13, 1913, a daughter of the late Charles and Theresa Costello Lucci. For many years Mrs. Cole worked for G.W. Van Slyke and Horton Cigar Manufacturers, Kingston as a tobacco stripper. Formerly of East Kingston, Mary lived in Wiltwyck Garden Apartments for many years. Her husband Thomas J. Cole, Sr. died August 31, 1988. One sister Susan Lucci and four brothers Anthony, Joseph, John and Frank Lucci all died previously. Surviving are one son Thomas J. Cole Jr. and his wife Rose of East Kingston; three sisters Emma Carson and Rose Lucci both of Kingston and Jeanette Antenucci of Poughkeepsie; two grandchildren Travis and Lee Ann Cole; one great grandson Michael Anthony Carpino. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Luke McCann at St. Colman's Church, East Kingston at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
