Mary Christine Sawyer

Mary Christine Sawyer, 82, of Wake Forest, NC, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Hospice of Wake County Home. Mary C. Sawyer was born in Framingham, MA, June 30, 1931, the daughter of the late Thomas James Gallivan and Catherine Anne Gallivan. Mary was a loving mother, joyful caring grandmother, loyal wife and fun-loving friend. Her independent generous spirit brought life and laughter to all who interacted with her. Mary's passion for baking delighted everyone who entered her life. She brought a child-like spirit to the young and old and was always willing to go and adventure. Mary was originally from Framingham , Ma and moved to Kingston, NY in 1961. Mary and her late husband Raymond J. Sawyer were married for 40 years. Mary worked as a regional office manager for Leaseway Trucking Company for 20 years, Matlak Trucking Company for 20 years. Mary enjoyed her 60 years of golfing not for the sport but for the socialization with her friends that she treasured immensely. Mary had great love for her daughter and son-in-law, Michele Evangelista, Nicholas Evangelista and 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Evangelista, Theresa Evangelista, Dante Evangelista and Anna Doria Evangelista. Mary C. Sawyer is survived by her 4 sisters, Anne O'Connor, Ellen Magri, Margaret Hogan and Catherine Spinney, and one brother Fran Gallivan. She was proceeded in death by her 2 brothers, Thomas Gallivan and Edward Gallivan. Burial Service held at Hurley Cemetery in Hurley, NY on Saturday June 28th at 2:00PM.
