Mary Sauer, 62, of Saugerties, passed away on Saturday October 30, 2021, at Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus in Kingston.
Born in Honolulu, HI, she was the daughter of the late Louis Aprea & Rose Marino Aprea.
Mary worked in the Healthcare field for over 20 years; including Kingston and Benedictine hospitals, Grand Street Medical, and most recently River Radiology as a Mammography Technician and also performed Bone Density scans. Mary returned to school while working full time in healthcare, and finished her Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security and Forensics at Utica College in 2018. She loved to travel to different countries and states and always looked for the closest beach, ocean, and boardwalk.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Joseph Sauer, of Saugerties, three sons, Matthew Sauer and his wife Ayla, Adam Sauer, of Saugerties and Michael Sauer, of Saugerties, four siblings, Anne Roosa, of NC, Gerard Aprea and his wife Michelle, of Round Top, Pascal Aprea, of NC, John Aprea and his wife Julie, her loving grandchildren, Cecilia, Oliver, Keira, Michaela, and the arrival of baby Amelia. Mary is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents. Mary is predeceased by her sisters Angela Aprea and Louise Aprea.
Mary will be reposing at the Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Novitiate in Round Top at 11:30AM on Saturday November 6, 2021.
Interment will follow in St. Josephs Novitiate Cemetery.
