Martie Meade-Mattero

Martie Meade-Mattero of Forest Ave., Port Ewen died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 67. She was born December 14, 1939 in New York City, a daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Torres Martinez. Martie was a longtime resident of Saugerties where she was active with the Water Safety Program, American Red Cross and emergency services. She had previously worked as a health aide for In Flight Services. She was predeceased by her first husband, Phillip A. Meade who died in November of 1980. Suriviving is her husband, Antonio Mattero of Port Ewen, her daughter, Vanessa Grimsland of Kingston; four sons, Michael Meade of Tucson, AZ, William Meade of Pittsburg, PA, Thomas Meade of Apple Valley, CA, David Meade of Saugerties; and her step-children, Barbara Scherrer, Phillip A. Meade Jr., Helen Bohlinger, Rose Wilson, Michelle Pinela, Sue Mattero, Chris Mattero; Dawn Sykes and three brothers, Vincent Martinez of Philadelphia, PA, Augie Martinez of Queens, Anthony Martinez of Brooklyn and a sister, Susan Blake of Staten Island. Many grandchildrena and nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held Saturday at Pointe of Praise Family Life Center, 243 Hurley Ave., Kingston at 11:00 am.
