Martha Berry Sartelle

Martha "Marty" Berry Sartelle, 87, of Hallihan Hill Road, Sawkill, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Martha served as a nurse during World War II in the U.S. Army. As a Registered Nurse she worked, for many years, at Kingston City Hospital. She later worked at Hutton Nursing Home and Albany Avenue Nursing Home. A longtime Kingston resident, she has lived with her daughter in Sawkill for 36 years. Marty loved to cook and did so until recently. She was very passionate for all wildlife creatures, especially hummingbirds, but Marty's greatest love came from her cats and the flower garden. She is survived by her daughter Beth Atwood and her husband Steve of Sawkill, one son Billy Sartelle of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren Stevie Atwood and Quinn Sartelle, and her cats Molly, Ashley, Danny, Katie, and Melanie. A private service will be held at a later date by the family. Arrangements under the direction of Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, Kingston.
