Mark W. Moriarty, 50, of Kingston, passed on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston, NY.
Mark was born on December 14, 1965 in Kingston in what was then called Benedictine Hospital. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1984 where he was a member of the high school band.
He attended SUNY Buffalo and graduated with a BA in Political Science, class of 1988.
For many years he worked as store manager for Circuit City, first in Chicago and then Minneapolis. He was to return to this area and work for the Tonner Doll Company where he was involved in marketing and computer support. He was later manager of Charles Effron & Sons, a division of Millens Recycling,
Mark was an extraordinary person with diverse interests including sci-fi, motorcycles and falconry to name a few. He and his favorite nephew, John, were regulars at Comi-con. He possessed a unique sense of humor which was always good hearted. He was very committed to all his friends who were many over the years. He could occasionally be seen displaying his theatrical skills at outdoor Tonner Doll events where he conducted raffles for the company. He was interested in astronomy and loved to talk about the mysteries of the universe.
He is survived by his parents Jacquelyn J. and John F. Moriarty of Hurley, his sister Christine Henning and her husband Bill, favorite nephew John "Jack" Henning, his beloved treasure Melissa Brown, his special cousins Sarah Gehr and Terry Ward and Joan Millens whose family has been supportive of Mark throughout his life.
The family will be having a celebration of Mark's Life on Saturday, June 4th, from 5-8 pm at their residence; 167 Apple Hill Road, Hurley, NY.
