Marjorie Jeanne Combs, 93, of Kingston, NY, formerly of St. Remy, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, on Monday April 16, 2018. She was born on October 27, 1924 in Mechanicville, NY to the late Edward J. Lucas and Ella (Isles) Lucas. Margie was a graduate of Mechanicville High School, class of 1942. She was married to her husband of 59 years, Lynn C. Combs. Lynn passed on March 9, 2005.
Margie worked for Kingston City Schools for many years until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Central Rec Women's Bowling League and St. Remy Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus RC Church in Wilbur, NY and Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church in Port Ewen, NY. Margie loved traveling cross country and annual vacations with her family and friends in the Adirondacks.
She is survived by her children, Linda Combs Akins (Wes Seche), Gil E. Combs (Linda), Carol A. Bauer (Michael), and Beth Combs Keyser (Eric), her grandchildren, Thomas E. Akins (Bridget), David L. Akins (Beth), Robin T. Parete (John), Greg E. Combs (Jamie), Cori A. Allen (Todge), Christian P. Bauer (Hollis), Shannon B. Ashcroft (Peter), Kristen A. Gibson (Scott), Luke Keyser (Meghan), 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Amy O. Combs, as well as several nieces.
In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her infant children, Donna Combs and Donald Combs, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Norma J. Ingraham (Duane).
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401. Family and friends may visit on Sunday April 22 from 2pm to 5pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Monday April 23 at 9:45am and proceed to Presentation RC Church, Port Ewen, where at 11am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
