Marjorie J. Ausanio

Marjorie J. Ausanio, formerly of Lake Katrine, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Kingston Hospital. She was 87. She was born in Haverstraw, a daughter of the late John L. and Bona M. Perry Hughes. Marjorie worked as children's day care provider for many years. A proud convert to the Roman Catholic Church, Marjorie was Confirmed, at age 80, by Fr. Grohe at Sacred Heart Church. Formerly of Henry Street, Kingston, for the past 12 years she lived with her daughter in Lake Katrine. Marjorie lived at Golden Hill Health Care for over a year. Beloved mother of Patricia Smith of Hurley and Joan Brandt of Lake Katrine; grandmother of Anthony Smith of Shokan and Michael Smith of Town of Ulster; sister of Kenneth Hughes of Samsonville and the late Robert Hughes, John "Buddy" Hughes, George Hughes and Dorothy Palen. One great grandson, four great granddaughters, many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 3:00 8:00 pm. The funeral procession will form on Wednesday at 9:00 am from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Parish at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Sacred Heart Parish, 1055 Broadway, Esopus, NY 12429.
