Marion Toffel Present, a long-time resident of Kingston died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Wingate at Ulster, Highland. She was 88.
She was born in New York City on September 23, 1920, a daughter of the late Joe and Bessie Rosenberg Toffel. Mrs. Present moved to Kingston when she was 2 weeks old.
A bookkeeper, she worked for 12 years at the former Fuller Shirt Factory and then at Fil Jon Dress Factory for 10 years.
Mrs. Present was a former President of the #8 School, P.T.A. She received an award from the school for her participation.
A member of Congregation Agudas Achim, she belonged to the Sisterhood. She has lived in Poughkeepsie for the past 2 years.
Her husband Sol C. Present died July 16, 1994; four brothers Max, Irving, Philip and Benjamin Toffel and one sister Lena Toffel all died previously.
Surviving are one son Barry Irving Present of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; one daughter Debra Tierney and her husband Kevin of Poughkeepsie; three grandchildren Elizabeth and Michael Present and Brian Landesman; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 12:00 at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
