Marion C. Brown of Neighborhood Road, Lake Katrine died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at her home. She was 88. She was born in Brooklyn on March 19, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Louise Reidler Carroll. Formerly of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Brown moved to this area in the 1930's. From 1957 - 1980 she was a cook for the Kignston City Schools Consolidated. Her husband Stanley M. Brown died January 8, 1971. One daughter Shirley Minkler died in 2006. One brother Joseph F. Carroll Jr. and one sister Lorraine Lowe both died previously. Surviving are two daughters Carol Besaw of Lake Katrine and Susan Brown of Lake Katrine; two son in laws Donald Minkler and Frank Besaw; one sister Louise Napoleon of Kingston; nine grandchildren Donna DeGregoria, Donald and Derek Minkler, Renee Romaine, Gary and Michael Besaw, Michelle Zupa, Wendi Piper and Jodi Bodie; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great granddaughters, many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
