Marion A. Rockwell, 79, of Arlington, VA and formerly of Saugerties, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Virginia Hospital Center.
Born in Afton, NY, she was a daughter of the late Rexford & Mary Pauly Pratt. Marion had a variety of professional skills. She co-owned and operated Abigail Press on Cedar Street, Kingston with her late husband Jim. She also worked at the Kingston Answering Service, JB Back Cigar Factory, Colonial Printing, and Dot's Diner. Marion also was a nurse's aide and a proud member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Van Etten, NY. She enjoyed a good laugh as well as spending time with family and friends, baking and playing bingo.
Marion is survived by four sons; Richard Rockwell and his wife Angela of Payson, AZ, Paul Rockwell and his wife Michelle of Aurora, CO, Foster Rockwell and his partner John Rodgers of Arlington, VA, Scott Rockwell and his wife Kim of Brighton, CO; and also her sister Rosemary Butts of Payson, AZ. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband James E. Rockwell who passed in 1984, her long-time companion John Foley who passed in 2010, and her son Douglas Rockwell, A/C Captain of the Salvation Army in 2012.
Marion will be in repose at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 12:00 noon with Father George from St. Joseph Church officiating.
Interment will follow in North Marbletown Cemetery.
