Mario Occhi, 68, of Kingston, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Mariano Valmozzola, Parma, Italy, he was a son of the late Ettore & Anna Croci Occhi.Mario moved to London, England in 1959 and then immigrated to the United States in 1966. He was the owner and operator of the Boiceville Supermarket for over 27 years. He enjoyed dancing, music, socializing and hunting. He also enjoyed people and life, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and he adored his grandchildren. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and was very patriotic.
Mario is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Moretti Occhi of Kingston, whom he married on July 8, 1967, two sons, Andrew M. Occhi and his wife Virginia of West Hurley, Richard J. Occhi and his fianc, Amy Long of Kingston, his sister, Mariuccia Barborini and her partner Luigi of Bayside, NY, three grandchildren, Michela, Nicholas and Julia. One niece, Susan and her husband, Roy and one nephew, Edward and his wife, Kelly, also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mario was predeceased by his brother in law, Frank Barborini.
Mario will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM.
Interment in Italy will be held privately.
