Marilyn ''Lynn'' C. Gorman of Kingston, NY, died Friday, January 8, 2016 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. She was born in Brooklyn to the late Joseph and Mildred Hanley Cantwell. She married her loving husband of 60 years on September 4th 1950, Thomas F. Gorman. Thomas passed away on September 25th, 2010.
Lynn graduated from Catherine McAuley High School in Brooklyn and later attended Brooklyn College. She received her Associates degree from Ulster County Community College. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for the Kingston City School District. Lynn was a parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Kingston, a member of Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Council of Catholic Women, and St. Bernard's Church in Holmes Beach, FL. She formerly served on the St. Joseph's School & John A. Coleman H.S. PTA, and was a member of the St. Joseph's Rosary Society.
She is survived by her children, Patrick M. Gorman of Briarwood, NY, Kathleen A. Gorman of Orlando, FL, Bryan J. Gorman and his wife Denise of West Babylon, NY, Gayle M. Macias and her husband Miguel, of Rochester, NY, her grandchildren, Jennifer Palilla and her husband Richard, Diana C., and Kevin J. Gorman, Thomas I., Shannon K., Aimee K., James P., and Hannah M. Macias, her great granddaughter, Emily Rose Palilla, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Josephs RC Church on Monday January 11th at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
