Marie R. Lammon, of Madden Street died Sunday, January 18, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. She was 81. She was born in East Kingston on February 10, 1922, a daughter of the late Angelo and Katherine Phillips Qualtiere.
A lifelong area resident, she married Robert A. Lammon at St. Joseph’s Church on November 26, 1953.
Mrs. Lammon first worked in the Kingston Garment Industry and belonged to the I.L.G.W.U. She later worked as a NY State Family Day Care Home Provider for 26 years.
A member of the VFW, Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Ladies Auxiliary, Mrs. Lammon was a life member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. A parishioner of St. Peter’s Church, Kingston, she belonged to the “Western Retirees.”
One sister Josephine Carlson and one brother Thomas Qualtiere both died previously.
Beloved wife of Robert A. Lammon with who she celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on November 26th; loving mother of Cathy Anne Lammon Smith and her husband Michael A. Smith, and Robert A. Lammon; sister of Theresa Heitzman and the late Josephine Carlson and Thomas Qualtiere; grandmother of Nicole Marie and Kristy Ann Tolman, Danielle, Megan, Robert III and Kyle Lammon; several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church at 9:30 AM. Entombment in Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
