Marie L. Fyllingen, of Pine Place, Town of Ulster, died Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Fyllingen was an active parishioner, choir member and frequent soloist of Fair Street and Prattsville Reformed Churches. In her later years, she was a member of the High Woods Reformed Church. She met her late husband, Magnus Fyllingen, at the Sons of Norway Lodge, Hudson Valley Chapter, where she was a lifetime member and former president.
Marie was born August 21, 1923 in Kingston, to the late Henry and the late Sofie (Simonsen) Lund. She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1941. She had been employed as a switchboard operator by NY Telephone and later retired after 20 years from IBM Kingston.
Marie is survived by her children, Eileen M. Swanson, who was her primary caregiver, Eileen's husband Gary Swanson of Kingston, Teri B. Sapienza and her husband James Sapienza of Eden Prairie, MN and Richard Buckley and his wife Christine Buckley of Spring Hill, FL, grandchildren Pamela and her husband Reuben Mosqueda; Eric and his wife Amy Swanson; Craig Swanson, Allison and Steven Sapienza; step daughters, Caryl Fyllingen of Lake Katrine, and Mildred and her husband Douglas Brown of Rhinebeck and grandson Douglas Brown, brother William Lund of Schenectady, sister Grace Lemontt of CA. Marie was the former wife of the late Walter R. Buckley, sister of the late Elsie Lund, Eleanor Roberts, Alice Bailey and Frank Lund.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12 - 2 at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., The Rev. Dr. Robert Gram, officiating. Inurnment at Wiltwyck Cemetery.
