Marianne Crist, 69, of Port Ewen, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus.
Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Francis & Violet Fishang Osterhoudt. Marianne was a school teacher and taught at various schools in the Saugerties School System. After retiring, she volunteered in the Emergency department at Kingston Hospital. Marianne enjoyed traveling the United States and several countries in Europe, but her favorite escape was Ogunquit, Maine. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. Most of all she adored her grandchildren. They were her world.
Marianne is survived by her husband of 43 years, James A. Crist of Port Ewen, whom she married on May 11, 1974, two children, Nicholas J. Crist and his wife Barbara of Kingston, Bethanne Varner and her husband James of Wake Forest, NC, three grandchildren, Rhylan Crist, Braeden Crist and Macklin Varner. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Marianne was predeceased by a brother, John Osterhoudt and a nephew, Sean Osterhoudt.
Marianne will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4-7 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
