Maria Stanica

Maria Stanica of 10 Conway Place, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. She was 85. Born April 17, 1920 in Deagurile of Romania, she was the daughter of Gheorghe and Dumitra Stanica. Before immigrating to the United States in August of 2001 Maria went to the School of Administration where upon completion she was duly employed in the city of Bucharest as a Hotel Manager until she retired in 1975. She married Gheorghe Pandelea in 1950, who died in March of 2001. One son, Joan Liviu Pandelea died previously; as well as her brothers and sisters; Ilie; Ion; Lenutza; and Nick. Survivors include her daughter, Rodica Alecsandra Miller Petrescu of Kingston, NY; one sister, Nina of Romania; and two grandchildren, Alexandru and Anabella Petrescu; Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 at the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Burial will be in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
