Margaret "Peggy" Schwenk

Margaret J. "Peggy" Schwenk, 93, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine, NY. She was born on June 18, 1930 in Kingston, NY, daughter of the late Paul and Marion (Forman) Wilson. She was married for 58 years to the late Robert F. Schwenk who passed away 2008.

Peggy is survived by her children, Robert W. Schwenk and his wife Susan of Rosendale, NY, Nina Asch and her husband Robert of Saugerties, NY, and Kurt F. Schwenk of Kingston, NY, her son in law, Gregory Gerard of Lake Katrine, NY, her grandchildren, Christian F. Schwenk and his wife Katherine of Rapid City, SD, Katherine Schwenk of Kingston, NY, Adam J. Schwenk and his wife Veronica of Hurley, NY, and Nicholas Gerard of Lake Katrine, NY, her great granddaughters, Quinn and Harper Schwenk, her sister, Dorotha Cook of Grand Rapids, MI, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her son, Jeffrey A. Schwenk, her daughter, Amy E. Gerard, and her sister Helen Sinsabaugh. 

Peggy was a Kingston High School Graduate, Class of 1947 and later graduated from the Kingston Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Kingston Hospital before leaving to raise 5 children.  She later worked at the Ulster County Infirmary for 15 years before her retirement.  She enjoyed sewing and crafts and spent many hours researching her genealogy.  She loved a big family gathering most of all. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingston. 

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 10am to 12pm. The funeral service will begin at 12pm with burial following in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 72 Spring St., Kingston, NY 12401.
