Margaret M. Meredith

Margaret M. Meredith, formerly of Highland, died Monday, December 27, 2004 at the Kingston Hospital. She was 86. She was born in Brooklyn on October 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Ralph and Lillie Johnson Gallo. For many years Mrs. Meredith lived on Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn and previously worked as a private secretary in New York City. Her husband Robert Meredith died in 1978. Mrs. Meredith lived in East Meadow before moving to Highland in 2000. She moved to the Golden Hill Health Care Facility earlier this year. Two brothers Anthony and Ralph Gallo both died previously. Surviving are her sister Agnes A. Caprio of Highland; two nieces Linda Cooper of Kingston and Carol Roche of Long Island. She was the great aunt of Jessica and Adam Cooper, Laura and Cara Roche. Reposing at Macken Mortuary, 52 Clinton Ave., Rockville Centre on Wednesday from 11:00 – 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Holy Rood Cemetery.
