Mother Margaret Floyd Hardin, 99 Golden Hill Drive, Kingston, New York, wife of the late Deacon OC Hardin, and daughter of the late Mr. Minor Green and Mrs. Mary Jackson Floyd, was born December 23, 1924 in York County, South Carolina. She was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016 from the Kingston Hospital.
Mother and Deacon Hardin were joined together in marriage on February 23, 1946. They moved to Kingston in 1954, and united themselves with the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church.
Mother Hardin served long and faithful in the Riverview Church. She served as head-servant of the Deaconess Ministry for over 30 years. She also served in the Pastor's Aid Ministry, The Women's Ministry, the Helping Hand Ministry, and other church ministries. She served whenever and wherever she was needed. She also served as a committed Mother of the Church. She loved her church dearly, and was committed to its cause, vision, and mission.
She worked as a domestic worker for several families in North and South Carolina and Kingston, New York; and did so until her health failed.
Mother Hardin leaves to honor and cherish her loving memory; daughter, JoAnn Blair Stevenson, Bronx, NY; daughter-in-law, Melvina Blair, Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; brother, William Floyd, Gastonia, NC; sister-in-law, Lillie Bell Floyd, Clover, SC; several god-children, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her husband, Mother was pre-deceased by: son, Robert Blair, brother, Mr. John Jackson Floyd, and two sisters: Mary Belle Fewell and Carrie Hall. Mother Hardin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Truly, she was a servant of God.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston. Friends and family may visit on Thursday November 3rd from 11am to 12pm at Riverview Baptist Church, 240 Catherine St., Kingston, NY 12401. The funeral service will start at 12pm followed by burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston.
