Margaret Elizabeth Sanza, of Glenerie Blvd., Saugerties died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Albany Medical Center. She was 98.
She was born in New York City on July 8, 1909, a daughter of the late Henry Palmer and Annie Jagger Gill. Mrs. Sanza was raised in Manhattan and educated in Barbados. She later lived in Mt. Vernon and worked as a bookeeper for Metropolitan Life Insurance.
Mrs. Sanza moved to this area in 1966 and worked at Herzog Supply Co. from 1968 - 1979.
A member of the Town of Ulster Republican Club, she belong to Trinity Episcopal Church, Saugerties. For 46 years Mrs. Sanza was active in the Glenerie Lake Park Improvement Association and served as vice president, board member and treasurer.
Her husband John Sanza died in 1990. Two brothers Henry Edwin Gill and Richard Leroy Gill both died previously.
Surviving are one son John A. Sanza of Woodbury, CT; two grandsons John A. Sanza III and Thomas Michael Sanza; five great grandchildren Amanda Rose, Juliann Marie, Erin Elizabeth, John Andrew and Elena Marie Sanza; several nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Kensico Cemetery.
