Maharaja Pandian

Maharaja C. Pandian, 61, of Woodstock, NY, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born February 7, 1950 in Moovirunthali, Tamil Nadu, India to Chelliah Pandian and Ram Sundarathai.




He was married to his loving wife Muthulakshmi.




Maharaja came to America in 1979 and graduated from the University of Texas, Arlington with his Ph.D. in mathematics in 1984. He then served as a faculty member in the mathematics department at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. In 1987 he joined IBM in Kingston, NY as a High Performance Computing specialist. In 2009, he joined NASA as a Senior Research Scientist in Greenbelt, MD.




In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his son Murugan Pandian and his wife Anne of Syracuse, NY, Ananth Pandian and his wife Crystal Germond of Boston, MA, grandchildren, Kavi, Meena and Shriya Pandian of Syracuse, NY, uncle and aunt, Paul and Geetha Pandian of Dallas, TX, and his three brothers, and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews in India.




Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM.




Cremation will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.


Friends may visit during viewing hours on Thursday from 12 - 2 PM at the funeral home.
